Non-Paternity Testing
Sibling DNA Testing

Purpose: To determine if two individuals are biological siblings.
Types:
-
Full Sibling Test: Confirms if two individuals share both biological parents.
-
Half Sibling Test: Determines if two individuals share one biological parent.
Applications:
-
Verifying sibling relationships for personal knowledge, inheritance claims, or immigration purposes.

Avuncular DNA Testing

Purpose: To determine if an individual is the biological aunt or uncle of a child.
Method: Compares the child’s DNA with the alleged aunt or uncle's DNA to look for shared genetic markers indicative of a close biological relationship.
Applications:
-
Used when the parents are unavailable for testing to verify familial relationships for legal, immigration, or personal reasons.

Grandparent DNA Testing

Purpose: To establish a biological relationship between a child and their grandparents.
Method: Compares the DNA of the grandparents with that of the child to identify genetic matches that would indicate a direct biological relationship.
Applications:
-
Useful in situations where the alleged parent is unavailable, such as in paternity disputes or immigration cases.

Twin Zygosity Testing
Purpose: To determine if twins are identical (monozygotic) or fraternal (dizygotic).
Method: Compares the DNA profiles of the twins. Identical twins will have virtually identical DNA, while fraternal twins will have differences similar to regular siblings.
Applications:
-
Provides insight into genetic conditions, helps understand hereditary traits, and offers personal knowledge about the nature of the twin relationship.
